What this site collects, which is very little

There is no mailing list

This site has no sign-up form, no newsletter and no subscriber database, so there is nothing to unsubscribe from and no address of yours for us to hold. If a page ever appears here asking for your email, this section will be rewritten first to say exactly what happens to it.

We do not collect anything about your teeth

This is the important one on a site about dentistry. There is no quote form, no symptom checker, no questionnaire and no chat. We never ask what is wrong with your mouth, and we have nowhere to put the answer if you told us. Health information is a category that deserves handling by people equipped for it, and a static research site is not that.

Server logs

Like any web server, ours records the ordinary technical detail of a request: the address that asked for a page, the page asked for, the time, the browser's own description of itself, and where the request came from if a link sent it. Those lines exist so the server can be kept running and so we can tell which drawings anyone actually opens. They are not matched against anything else, not sold, and never assembled into a picture of you.

Cookies

There is no cookie on this domain that we put there. These pages are flat files: nothing to sign into, nothing to remember between visits, no preference worth storing.

Following one of our partner links is different, and you should know it before you click. A link beginning /go/ redirects you to a discount-plan provider, and from the moment you arrive you are on their site under their rules: they will typically set a cookie so that a purchase can be attributed to us, and their privacy policy, not this one, governs what happens next. We never receive your name, your payment details or anything you enter there — only, eventually, a count of purchases. Third parties we do not use

No advertising network, no social widgets, no embedded video, no comment platform and no hosted font service. The typefaces are served from this domain and the illustrations are drawn for this site, so loading a page here does not quietly make requests to anybody else.

If you write to [email protected] we have your message and your address for as long as it takes to answer you and keep a record of any correction it produced. Ask us to delete the correspondence and we will. Please do not send us details of your dental treatment; we do not want them and cannot use them.
